Adding bump interlining to silk drapes

I just finished making interlining supplier6 pairs of floor to ceiling silk curtains using bump interlining and blackout lining. You are meant to hand catch the bump to the silk with aprox 8 inch intervals between each stitch, however the modern way is to simply attach at the head and sides creating a bag lining . this is an for attaching interlinings. This is a link to an excellent E Book series covering curtains, blinds, sheers etc, there are some free downloads in PDF formate .

The bump is a bit heavy, domette is a better weight for silk, but your curtains will look and feel truly luxurious, the extra body the thicker interlinings give to the curtains is fantastic. Be prepared for aching arms and shoulders, they get really heavy. I made goblet headings 8 inches deep and pinched with a covered button on each pinch. You'll need to double up the hem weights, and if you have joined panels don't let the joins in the bump and lining meet the joins in the silk, keep them staggered, that way they wont show on the right side of the silk. The smallest panel I had to make was a 100 inches wides by 109 long, and the largest 152 wide by 112" long, now the winter is interlining supplier here, the owner has warm cozy rooms as no draughts get through those curtains.
